Bio

Dr. Steve G. Green is a Professor and Deputy Department Head at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. Dr. Green grew up in Phoenix, AZ and graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1980 with a BS in Management. He is a retired USAF Lt Col with tours in acquisition, financial management, and education. Upon retirement he continued teaching at the USAF Academy where is has now accumulated almost 30 years on the faculty. He received his MS from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He completed his doctoral dissertation on cost analysis of future space systems and received his Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the United States International University in San Diego, CA.

Professional Experience

In addition to his teaching and educational experiences, Dr. Green also has a significant amount of operational experience. While he was on active duty in the Air Force, he served as a cost analyst and business manager for the ASAT and Space Test satellite programs headquartered at Los Angeles Air Force Base. He was also a program control officer at the National Reconnaissance Office and DARPA. He worked primarily on highly classified satellite programs. Finally, he completed a special duty tour at the Defense Finance and Accounting Center. While at the Academy, Dr. Green has also been very active in a number of consulting projects.

Current research and teaching interests include financial and managerial accounting, management education, cost analysis, forensic accounting and fraud examination, and research & development management.
