War, the Holocaust, and Human Rights Conference

The United States Air Force Academy, in partnership with the Ackerman Center at the University of Texas at Dallas, hosts scholars from across the world for the “War, the Holocaust, and Human Rights Conference,” Oct. 11-13. Public registration details are online at: https://whhr.utdallas.ed

Planned events include keynote speakers, panels, roundtables, quick-fire viewpoint sessions, workshops, performances by the Academy’s Bluebards theatre group, and photo exhibits. Conference attendees should monitor the event website for updates.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Rana Mitter, author and S.T. Lee Chair in U.S.-Asia Relations at the Harvard Kennedy School; Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Jewish activist and Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action for the Simon Wiesenthal Center; and Dr. Patricia Heberer Rice, senior historian for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

The conference includes a presentation on the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem and presentation of the award-winning documentary, “Nathan-ism,” highlighting a U.S. Army veteran 70 years after serving as a guard at the Nuremberg trials.
