This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Tuesday, January 13th — 

On this day, back in 1968 — The Air Force basketball team plays Navy for the first time, beating the Midshipmen 98-88 in Annapolis. 

…Also on this day, back in 1993 — For the third time, a Space Shuttle orbiter launches with three Air Force Academy graduates on board.  John Casper, Class of ’66, commanded Endeavour on mission STS-54.  Donald McMonagle, Class of 74, was the pilot, with Susan Helms, Class of ’80, the mission specialist.
