This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Tuesday, January 6th —

On this day, back in 1958 — The two-acre, 1,150-ton roof of Mitchell Hall, which had been assembled on the ground, is raised over 24 feet, three inches at a time, onto 16 columns using hydraulic jacks. The process took six hours.

…Also on this day, back in 2003 — The Falcons’ men’s basketball program secures its 500th victory with a 56-33 win over Savannah State.
