Weekend of January 3rd and 4th

This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for the Weekend January 3rd and 4th —

On this day, back in 1970 — The Air Force Academy Preparatory School initiates a new mid-year entrants’ program with the admission of 21 regular airmen.

…Also this weekend, back in 1968 — Cadets return from Christmas vacation and occupy the new dormitory for the first time which would later become Sijan Hall.  In May 1976, Academy officials formally named the building after Captain Lance Sijan, Class of ’65.
