This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Thursday, January 1st — Happy New Year, 2026! 

On this day, back in 2004 — To commemorate the Air Force Academy’s fiftieth anniversary, the Academy Band makes its first appearance in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.   

…Also on this day, back in 2012  — Chad Hall, Class of ’08, scores his second touchdown in the National Football League.  The Philadelphia Eagle receiver caught a pass from Michael Vick for a seven-yard score in a win over the Washington Redskins.
