This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Friday, November 28th --   On this day, back in 1981 -- Colonel Bradley Hosmer, Class of ’59, speaks in Arnold Hall on “Discipline and Motivation.”  His visit was part of the Commandant’s Leadership Series.  …Also on this day, back in 2022 -- The Class of ’25 holds its Exemplar Dinner in Mitchell Hall.  The Class chose Retired Colonel William Andrews, Class of ’80, to emulate.  Andrews received the Air Force Cross and the 1991 Colonel James Jabara Award for Airmanship for his heroism in Iraq. This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Thursday, November 27th -- Happy Thanksgiving!  On this day, back in 1969 -- The Air Force Academy Band marches in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City. Also on this day, in 2001 -- The Association of Graduates conducts a ceremony to honor its newest Honorary Member, Retired Lieutenant General Albert Patton Clark who served as the Academy Superintendent from 1970 to 1974 and had been a POW during World War II.  Honorary membership is awarded to persons who have rendered outstanding service to the Air Force and/or the Academy.  Membership...

This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Wednesday, November 26th --  On this day, back in 1968 -- First Lieutenant James Fleming flies the mission for which he would earn the Medal of Honor.  Piloting a UH-1F transport helicopter that was already low on fuel, he repeatedly braved enemy ground fire to rescue a six-man Army Special Forces Green Beret reconnaissance team that was in danger of being overrun near Duc Co, South Vietnam.  After returning from combat, he served on the Air Force Academy faculty.  …Also on this day, back in 2002 -- The Academy’s Introductory...
