This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Monday, March 17th–
On this day, back in 2021 — The Academy announces its eighth class for induction into the Academy’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The class is comprised of basketball player Otis Jones, football All-American and wrestling NCAA qualifier Terry Maki, rifle All-American Robin Orth, women’s tennis national champion Laura Simmons-Bergstrom, football player and former director of athletics Randy Spetman, and the 2003-2004 Mountain West Conference men’s basketball championship team.
…Also on this day, back in 2023 — The Academy’s first Culminating Exercise (CULEX) for graduating seniors begins. The two-day event exposed cadets to realistic global scenarios they might see in their Air Force/Space Force jobs. Officers and staff from throughout the Academy, as well as graduate volunteers, worked to make the exercise as authentic as possible.
