Homeschool Open House: Are We Alone? Searching for Life in the Universe

“Are we Alone in the Universe?” This is one of the most intriguing and enduring questions of humanity. Humans have wanted to know if our planet is the only place where life has evolved since the dawn of recorded history.

Join us as we explore how we search for life, and the building blocks of life, all throughout our solar system – and WAY beyond to other solar systems and their exoplanets.

After the Live portion of the program will be our film Oasis in Space which highlights all the places throughout our solar system where we have discovered water.

“We are ready to take the audience on a rich and fascinating journey through our celestial neighborhood, as we look for one of organic life’s key ingredients – liquid water. Why is Venus considered the hottest planet in the Solar System? Is Saturn the only Solar System planet with rings? And what can possibly hide under the icy surface of Jupiter’s moon, Europa? These and more questions are answered, as we visit the Sun in its cradle, the Earth as it used to be, the neighboring planets as they are today, and maybe even a yet undiscovered world which awaits our visit in the future.”

HOW TO GET YOUR PASS:

ALL attendees, 18 and over, MUST register for a pass to get on the Academy.

Each registrant for Homeschool will receive an email with a QR Code to use to register for this pass

You will receive the QR Code in your email no earlier than one week prior to the event date

• EACH person 18 and over MUST complete this separately to get their own pass
• Any member of your group, 18 and over, with a current DoD ID card does not need to get a pass via this process
• Once completed, EACH person will receive an Approval reply which is that person’s pass to enter the Academy for the visit on your scheduled day
• ONLY visitors with a proper pass and valid government issued ID (such as driver’s license, passport, state ID) will be allowed onto the Academy
• We highly recommend those 18+ attending submit their request as soon as possible to allow time for the background check
• Passes are valid at both the North and South Gates
• EVERY PERSON 18+ must have their own pass
