Bio
Maj. Shufeldt is an Instructor of Management, United States Air Force Academy, Colo. She instructs Management 382-Investments, which introduces students to financial markets, investment vehicles (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and derivatives), and retirement planning. Specific topics include time value of money, risk and return, valuation, portfolio mathematics, behavioral finance and the basics of mutual funds. Additionally, Maj. Shufeldt is an Officer Representative for the Women's Gymnastics team; where she serves as a mentor for the cadet athletes, as well as, a liaison with Dean of Faculty departments to ensure the cadet athletes have access to academic and training materials when absent from the United States Air Force Academy.
Prior to her current assignment, Maj. Shufeldt was an Assistant Director of Operations and T-1 Instructor Pilot. Her responsibilities included training and maintaining a quality instructor Pilot force to safely and effectively conduct a 9.8K sortie and 22.4K hour annual flying training program; graduating more than 240 pilots per year. She was also responsible for standardizing 3 flights in training student pilots in transition, navigation, instrument, air refueling and airdrop procedures.
Maj. Shufeldt commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Spring, Colo. Maj. Shufeldt is a Senior Pilot with more than 2,300 hours, including combat hours supporting operations Enduring Freedom, Freedom’s Sentinel and Inherent Resolve.
