Bio

Major Cascino is an Instructor in the Department of Physics and Meteorology at the U.S. Air Force Academy.  He earned his B.S. in Meteorology and his commission upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2011. For his first assignment, he earned his M.S. in Meteorology in-residence at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where his focus was in Tropical Meteorology. Following graduate school, he attended undergraduate pilot training at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma and was selected to fly the C-17 Globemaster III at Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina. While flying the C-17, Major Cascino upgraded to Aircraft Commander and participated in multiple Airlift, Aeromedical Evacuation, Human Remains and Airdrop operations throughout Europe, Southwest Asia, Africa, Central America and the Pacific. Major Cascino then cross-trained to fly the E-3 AWACS at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.  During this assignment, Major Cascino upgraded to Instructor and Evaluator pilot, culminating in his position as the Chief Pilot for the 552d Operations Group.

Major Cascino has participated in three combat deployments to Southwest Asia and accrued 574 combat hours over the course of his operational flying assignments.  He is a Senior Pilot with more than 2,750 hours of flight time.
