Bio
Lt Col Emily Marr is an Instructor in the Biology Department where she currently heads the Introduction to Biology course as well as flies the T-53 at USAFA’s airfield. She earned her MS at the University of Florida where she looked at small RNA in the cytoplasm. She studied the Muscleblind-Like3 isoform which is implicated in some forms of Myotonic Dystrophy. Understanding this particular protein would allow scientists to potentially understand more of how Myotonic Dystrophy effects can be treated. In her 18 yr Air Force career, she flew C-17s and taught pilot training. When Lt Col Marr is not teaching or flying, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her family.
