Major Bobby Birrer

Bio
Major Bobby D. Birrer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Cyber Sciences at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He instructs over 70 cadets per year in computer science and supports research in cyber security of software, hardware, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems.
Major Birrer previously served as an Assistant Director of Operations and Deputy Section Chief for the 7th Intelligence Squadron, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He led, directed, and managed over 100 personnel to execute over 100 million dollars per year of cyber capability development.
Prior to his assignment in the 7th Intelligence Squadron, Major Birrer served as a program manager at the Information Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory and as Program Element Monitor, Cyber and Information Technologies, in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon. In these roles, he managed and directed Air Force cyber science and technology research and oversaw two program elements worth over 170 million dollars a year.
