This is your official Air Force Academy History Update for Tuesday, May 13th– 

On this day, back in 1967 – Retired General Jimmy Doolittle, leader of the pivotal World War II raid on Tokyo in April 1942, receives the 1967 T. D. White Award at the Academy.  The award, established in 1962, was presented annually to a U.S. citizen who had contributed significantly to national defense.   

…Also on this day, back in 2023 — The Air Force men’s track and field squad captures its seventh outdoor title in 11 seasons at the 2023 Mountain West Outdoor Championships in Clovis, California.  They tallied the league’s highest team score since 2006.
