Integrate Negotiation Skills in Leadership Development

Leadership and Conflict Resolution Program

Members of the Leadership and Conflict Resolution Program.

The mission of the Leadership and Conflict Resolution Program (LACR) is to integrate negotiations skills in leadership development. To that end, our LACR Program conducts fieldwork, produces scholarship, and serves the USAFA and broader Department of the Air Force communities by linking negotiations expertise with leadership development programs and processes. Each year we send a team of cadets to participate in the West Point Negotiation Project. We also participate in the National Undergraduate Negotiations Competition. The event is the only negotiation competition in the nation designed specifically for teams of university undergraduate students to build negotiation skills among future business, military, and industry leaders. Typically, students who took the Fall Soc Sci 483, Principles of Negotiations, course offering are invited in early Spring to apply for the team and two students are selected to compete in April.
