Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Goetz joins the USAFA faculty upon completion of his PhD at the University of Utah. His dissertation is focused on nuclear crises and escalation control. Prior to this assignment Lieutenant Colonel Goetz was stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base as a Weapons Instructor where he was responsible for the 509th
Operations Group training program and stand up of the Mission Training Center. As a B-2 Evaluator Pilot his responsibilities also included commanding a two-person; $2.4B long-range precision strike aircraft in support of the Global Strike mission prepared to execute both conventional and nuclear operations.

Lieutenant Colonel Goetz graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and earned his wings from Columbus AFB, Mississippi. He then served in the B-52 for five years where he deployed twice to PACOM as part of the continuous bomber presence. Lieutenant Colonel Goetz was then selected to fly the B-2 at Whiteman AFB, Missouri, where he maintained qualifications in both the T-38 and B-2.
