Captain Daniel Johnson
Instructor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Captain Daniel T. Johnson is the Executive Officer and an Instructor for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. He is responsible for all day-to-day administrative functions for 23 faculty, staff, and researchers. He also designs and assesses courses in the computer engineering discipline while also teaching electrical engineering core classes to cadets from across the academy. As part of his mentoring role, he assists cadets with their research in robotics and autonomous navigation.
Captain Johnson entered the Air Force in 2012 through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base. He served as a project engineer for the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment System at Peterson AFB and as a sub factor chief on the source selection for the system’s sustainment. Prior to his current position, he was a master’s student at the Air Force Institute of Technology where he explored combining stereovision and inertial navigation for automated aerial refueling.
