Bio

Dr. Julie Tetley is Chief of Academic Advising and First-Year Programs at the U.S. Air Force Academy, an assistant professor of Behavioral Sciences, and academic administrator in the Office of Student Academic Affairs & Academy Registrar. She manages the delivery of all academic advising for undeclared cadets and leads the development and administration of first-year college transition programs.

Dr. Tetley earned her doctorate at George Washington University where she authored her dissertation entitled “An investigation of self-authorship, hope, and meaning in life among second-year college students.” Her other research interests include Mindset, Grit, effective learning strategies, critical thinking, and underprepared college students’ success and engagement. Dr. Tetley has more than 20 years of experience teaching and advising and has given numerous presentations focused on a variety of positive and educational psychology constructs, as well as college student development, retention, and success at the local, state, national and international level.
