Falcons collect seven All-America Awards

By Madeline McGuire, Athletic Communications / Published March 13, 2017.   U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Following the 2017 NCAA Rifle Championships, the Air Force Academy rifle team received a combined seven National Rifle Association Collegiate All-Americans and College Rifle Coaches Association All-American selections this month in smallbore and air rifle. Based on their individual averages for the year, sophomore Spencer Cap, was named NRA first-team air rifle. In 2016, Cap earned honorable mention honors. Anna Weilbacher named Rifle Athlete of the Week

By Madeline McGuire, Jan. 30, 2018 U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --This week’s Air Force Academy Rifle Athlete of the Week is junior Anna Weilbacher of Leona Valley, Calif. At the Citadel/VMI matches in Charleston, S.C. last weekend, Weilbacher was the overall top scorer on both days of the competition, Jan. 27-28. In the first match, she fired a 581 in smallbore and 594 in the air rifle. Her aggregate score was 1175, which led all shooters in the match. Rifle team goes 3-1 in home matches, Cadet Fiori is Falcons’ top finisher

(Photo/Trevor Cokley) Athletic communications, Oct. 29, 2019 U.S. AIR FORCE  ACADEMY, Colo. -- Finishing 3-1, Air Force started the season in fine fashion with home matches against the Universities of Kentucky and Nebraska and UTEP,  Oct. 26-27. Following a weekend of matches, the Air Force rifle team will travel to West Point, N.Y., for the annual President’s Trophy Matches against Army, Navy and the Coast Guard, Nov. 2.
