    NSF-funded workshop

Drs. David Westmoreland and Kellie Kuhn were recruited to attend an NSF-funded workshop at Michigan State University in 2016. With other biology educators from around the country, they developed laboratory exercises using a recently revised computer program, Avida-Ed. The program allows cadets to conduct experiments on the evolution of digital organisms.

    Teaching Controversial Topics Workshop

Dr. David Westmoreland was the keynote speaker at the annual Teaching Controversial Topics Workshop at UC-Boulder in 2016. The workshop focused on teacher training in the areas of evolution and global warming.

    Summer Research Program

Cadets Whitney Briggs and Trey Hardison culminated a 5-week summer research program at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center in Tyndall Air Force Base, FL by presenting their conclusions of concrete structural additives, advanced crack detection and biocementation.
