EDU Email
EDU email is the primary email for official correspondence. The outlook client on a government issued computer is set up to handle email configuration automatically. EDU inboxes have a 1GB size limit, so we recommend setting up a local storage copy of email on the hard drive. If you require assistance setting up your EDU email, review the Frequently Asked Questions or email matthew.heavel@afacademy.af.edu.
Use EDU email for:
- Official correspondence
- Setting up appointments or Teams meetings
- Sharing information classified as FOUO or PII
AFNET Email
AFNET email is for those with an official need for a military network email for correspondence. AFNET O365 Accounts have Outlook (email), Teams, and the typical suite of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Use AFNET email for:
- Official correspondence
- Setting up appointments or Teams meetings
- Sharing information classified as FOUO or PII
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 offers cadets, faculty and staff the ability to collaborate and share across a suite of cloud-based applications, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. When a user receives an email in their EDU inbox, it is automatically forwarded to their corresponding Microsoft 365 email account; however, emails containing PII are automatically filtered and blocked. As such, faculty and staff are expected to actively maintain both email accounts to ensure they’re receiving all communications. If you require assistance setting up your EDU email, review the Frequently Asked Questions or email matthew.heavel@afacademy.af.edu.
Use Microsoft 365 for:
- Day-to-day casual correspondence
- OneDrive for business storage (5TB)
- Access to all your O365 apps from any device with an internet connection
- Email storage (99GB)
