For immediate IT support, current faculty members with an established Office 365 account should submit a ticket, while new faculty members should email 10cs.cfp@afacademy.af.edu.

Director of Operations

Colonel Matthew C. Ross serves as the Director of Operations for the Dean of Faculty, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Col Ross supports the information technology, facilities, and finance requirements for the 850-member Dean of Faculty Mission Element, including the instruction of more than 500 undergraduate courses for 4,000 cadets across 32 academic disciplines.

Mr. Bryan Gilbrech

Chief Technology Officer

Bryan Gilbrech is the Chief Technology Officer for the Dean of Faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Mr. Gilbrech is responsible for Departmental technical requirements for the adequate design, resource optimization, and proper integration into USAFA network operations on behalf of 26 academic Departments. Mr. Gilbrech earned a Master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Dr. Robert Bryant

Director, Educational Technology

Dr. Robert “Bob” Bryant is Director of Educational Technology. He has a wide range of educational experience; among them, he was a high school teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and academic dean. Prior to his service at USAFA, he taught Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods at Texas State University and was an Instructional Designer at Alamo Colleges. He implemented one of the first successful BYOD campuses in Texas, while training faculty in hybrid, flipped, and online modalities. He twice facilitated SIS adoptions and implementation. During his career, he taught and/or provided technical support for five LMS systems (Canvas, Moodle, D2L, Blackboard, and Google Apps for Education). His doctoral thesis was the first published research to identify indicators that could predict successful student completion in MOOCs by testing Big Data through constructing a supervised Machine Learning (ML) model.

Mathew Heavel

Deputy Director, Academic IT

Matthew Heavel serves as the Deputy Director of Academic Information Technology for the Dean of Faculty. His main focus is IT operations, management, and optimization. Mr. Heavel also manages and maintains the Staff Directories, Digital Signage, as well as numerous other web-facing applications. Prior to joining the Dean of Faculty, Mr. Heavel was the acting Superintendent of the 310th Space Wing Communications Element, directing and managing all aspects of their Information Technology mission.

David Blott

Software Applications Developer

David Blott serves as Software Applications Developer for the Dean of Faculty. In his role, he manages and maintains all aspects of the Dean of Faculty application development. Currently has employed over 10 business apps within the workplace and maintains advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform.

Mr. Rob Wells

Chief, Audiovisual services

Rob Wells serves as the Chief of Audiovisual Services for the Dean of the Faculty. He schedules and maintains our 5 large lecture halls, and maintains AV and IT management for over 300 other classrooms, lectinars, and conference rooms. He is also the hardware go-to for our 21 Echo 360 lecture capture suites. Rob is also the government oversight (COR) for the CFAM DF IT help desk. He has spent almost 37 years working audiovisual issues in support of the Dean of the Faculty, and many other Mission Elements on the Air Force Academy.

Mr. Kevin Watson

Mr. Kevin Watson serves as an Audiovisual Aids Technician, scheduling and maintaining lecture halls as well as providing A/V support to classrooms. In addition to his primary duties, Mr. Watson is also DFT’s GPC Holder, rendering supply, equipment, and services purchase request support to several departments within the Dean of Faculty and other Mission Elements.

Mr. Janusz Masztalerz

audiovisual aids technician

Mr. Janusz Masztalerz serves as an Audiovisual Aids Technician, providing comprehensive technical support to classrooms, theaters, auditoriums, and lecture halls for the Dean of Faculty. Mr. Masztalerz graduated from Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, receiving his M.A. degree in Sound Engineering and Music Technology. For over 24 years, Mr. Masztalerz served as a Sound Engineer and Multimedia Technician in The United States Air Force Academy Band. His military career included deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, as U.S. Troops stationed in Europe.
