Bio

Colonel Beth L. Makros is Chair, Airpower Innovation and Integration in the Department of Military and Strategic Studies at the US Air Force Academy. A command pilot with more than 2,000 hours, she has served as an Air Operations Center Commander, Squadron Commander, Deputy Mission Support and Operations Group Commander, Director of Operations, and Instructor and Evaluator pilot in both the B-2 and T-38. As a Captain, she was selected as an Air Force Intern where she held jobs on the Air Staff and Office of the Secretary of Defense Staff. Col Makros served as Branch Chief and lead strategic planner for creation of USSTRATCOM’s Family of Operational Plans. Col Makros was a Lorenz Fellow at the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS) earning her PhD in Military Strategy Studies from Air University. Prior to serving at the US Air Force Academy, she was the Commander of the 608 AOC, responsible of planning, directing, and assessing daily operations employing global, kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in order to deliver strategic effects for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander and joint fires in direct support of theater commanders.
