Bio

Professor Allen Tate is an Associate Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy. In this capacity he instructs future Air Force officers in Law for Air Force Officers, Negotiations and through the Mock Trial program. Professor Tate is also is a Major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, currently serving in the JAG Corps base legal office at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. In his Reserve capacity he is a member of the TRIALS team, a select group of reservists that are tasked with training junior JAG officers in litigation skills. Professor Tate has also had a private practice employment law and military law consultant practice for nearly 15 years. Professor Tate joined the U.S. Army in 1993 and served as a legal specialist for almost 5 years, including a deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of Task Force Eagle. He then left the U.S. Army to attend the University of Florida, graduating in 2002 with a B.A. in English and Sociology. Professor Tate attended law school at Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, where he earned a J.D., cum laude, in 2005. In April of 2012, Professor Tate entered the Reserve as a Judge Advocate through the direct appointment program. During his over 18 years of military service, including the active duty Army, Army National Guard and now the Air Force Reserve, Professor Tate has served in various capacities as a base level JAG NCO and officer, TRIALS team member, SAF/EO consultant, and as an Associate Professor of law at the United States Air Force Academy.
