DESCRIPTION:USAFA Family Movie – The Martian \nSaturday\, March 28 at Noon \n2026 is “A Year Among the Stars” in the USAFA Planetarium – this will include a lot of space-themed movies for USAFA Families to enjoy. \nWith a whopping 91% on Rotten Tomatoes\, The Martian is one of the best science fiction movies ever made.\nWhen astronauts blast off from the planet Mars\, they leave behind Mark Watney\, presumed dead after a fierce storm. With only a meager amount of supplies\, the stranded visitor must utilize his wits and spirit to find a way to survive on the hostile planet. Meanwhile\, back on Earth\, members of NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring him home\, while his crew mates hatch their own plan for a daring rescue mission. \nNon-messy snacks and closeable drinks with lids are authorized for this event only in the Planetarium. \nEveryone must RSVP online to reserve your seats for the movie. IMPORTANT NOTE: With our limited seating\, if you RSVP and your plans change for any reason\, please email Jeff our Planetarium Director at planetarium@afacademy.af.edu so we can release your seats to another family who can attend. \nBASE PASS:\nVisitors to the Academy either need a valid DoD ID card\, be in the same vehicle with a valid DoD ID card holder\, or request a base access pass for the correct date by using the link at the top of the Planetarium website.
