Directorate of Plans and Programs






Our Mission

The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) XP Directorate serves the Superintendent of the USAFA by supporting the component mission element commanders (CW, DF, AD, PL, 10 ABW, 306 FTG).  Broadly, the Directorate supports commanders by developing institutional policy, plans and assessment strategies to enhance mission success.

Institutional Assessment

Provides analysis support to decision makers across the Academy. Provides analytic insight to assist planning and policy formulation, supports Academy positions, and improves Academy programs. Coordinates with college guidebook publishers and serves as the Academy's survey program manager.

Policy and

Facilitates institutional and policy alignment with USAFA, USAF and DoD officer development objectives and directives.  Provides feedback to commanders on program design and implementation.  Develops, coordinates, and reviews policy guidance regarding policy alignment with officer development objectives. 

Plans, Programs and
Institutional Events

Develops and manages plans, instructions, special events and airmanship programs in support of the USAFA mission.  Manages the USAFA Strategic Plan and ensures viability of all USAFA operating plans, contingency plans, and instructions.  Manages high visibility USAFA special events including Graduation Week, Parents’ Weekend, T.D. White Award, and the Conference of Service Academy Superintendents. 

Institutional Research

Provides analysis support to decision makers across the Academy. Serves as the Academy's research team leader, manages institutional databases, and provides statistical data for internal and external customers. Institutional Review Board (IRB) manager.
