WEDNESDAY, 31 AUGUST 2016
6-8 p.m. Parents Club Presidents Reception (The Carlton House). Reception hosted by the Superintendent for the Parents' Club Presidents. By invitation only.
THURSDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER 2016
7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Parents' Club Presidents Conference (Doolittle Hall). Conference offering Parents' Club Presidents information and briefings from USAFA organizations and Senior Staff. By invitation only.
4:40-6 p.m. Fourth-Class Parent Orientation (Arnold Hall Theater) (no cadets). Opportunity for new (or returning) cadet parents to receive an overview of USAFA programs from senior staff, including the Superintendent, Commandant of Cadets, Dean of the Faculty, Athletic Director and Admissions Director. Q&A session will follow presentations. Arrive at 4 p.m. to enjoy the musical talents of the USAFA Band.
FRIDAY, 2 SEPTEMBER 2016
6-8 a.m. Cadet Wing Breakfast. (Mitchell Hal) (Optional, no guests).
8:20-8:50 a.m. Cadet Aviation Capabilities Exercise (CAPEX) & Pre-Parade Demonstrations (Stillman Field). Watch the USAFA Wings of Blue parachute team, your National Champion glider team and Air Force Academy powered flight aircraft as they demonstrate the various cadet-led aviation and leadership programs that are offered to your cadets during their four years at USAFA.
9-10 a.m. Cadet Wing Parade (Stillman Field) (Mandatory for All Cadets). At the parade, the 2016 Distinguished Service Award will be presented. Please meet your cadet on the Parade Field following the parade.
10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Parents' Weekend Information Fair (Arnold Hall Ballroom). Arnold Hall will be open to visitors 7 a.m.-10 p.m.. The Info Fair offers invaluable information and giveaways from many USAFA and cadet organizations. Purchase BCT videos and cadet "Warrior" photos and preorder your BCT yearbook. Stop by to have a photo taken with your cadet; portrait sittings are free! Lunch will be available in the Richter Lounge. The BCT video will play in the theater throughout the day. Don't miss this popular event!
10:15-11:45 a.m. Academic Majors Fair and Presentations (Fairchild Hall) (For 3rd & 4th Class cadets and guests) Visit our Academic Building and talk to faculty about majors. Sessions include demonstrations and an opportunity to meet your cadet's faculty. A complete schedule of activities will be published on the USAFA website in July.
10:15-11:45 a.m. Squadron Open Houses (Vandenberg and Sijan Halls) (For 1st & 2nd Class cadets and guests) Don't miss this opportunity to visit your cadet's dormitory and meet his/her Air Officer Commander, Academy Military Training and Squadron leadership.
12-1 p.m. Cadet Performance Showcase (Arnold Hall Ballroom Stage). Visit the Information Fair and browse the many vendors while watching performances from the Cadet Show Choir, Cadet Orchestra, Saber Drill Team and the Cadet Chorale.
12-1 p.m. Fourth-Class Luncheon (Mitchell Hall) (Mandatory for Fourth-Class Cadets). Cadets must purchase guest tickets ($5.55 ea).
12-1 p.m. Squadron Picnics (various locations) (Upper-Class cadets and guests).
12-1 p.m. Islamic Worship Service (Cadet Chapel). Guests are invited to attend.
1-3:30 p.m. Prep vs JV football game (Falcon Stadium) Come cheer on our rising football stars at this intersquad scrimmage!
1:30-3 p.m. Academic Department Open Houses & Air Force Career Path Information (Fairchild Hall) (For 1st & 2nd Class cadets and guests). Visit our Academic Building and the various Academic Departments. Open houses include demonstrations and an opportunity to meet your cadet's faculty. Also, learn about career paths across the Air Force. A complete schedule of activities will be published on the USAFA website in July.
1:30-3 p.m. Squadron Open Houses (Vandenberg and Sijan Halls) (For 3rd & 4th Class cadets and guests). Don't miss this opportunity to visit your cadet's dormitory and meet his/her Squadron leadership.
3-4 p.m. Athletics Open House (Cadet Gymnasium, Cadet Field House, Hall of Excellence). USAFA Athletic Director, Mr. Jim Knowlton, welcomes parents in the Boxing Room (Cadet Gym) with opening remarks at 3 p.m.. Immediately following remarks, Phys Ed faculty will offer guided tours departing every 15 minutes starting at 3:30 p.m.
4:30 p.m. CADETS MAY LEAVE USAFA WITH THEIR ADULT GUESTS AT 4:30 p.m. OR AFTER LMD, WHICHEVER IS LATER; MUST ATTEND ACCOUNTABILITY FORMATION SATURDAY MORNING.
4:30-6 p.m. Dinner Buffet (Mitchell Hall). Open to cadets and their visitors. Guests may pay cashier ($4.85 ea).
7-9:30 p.m. Jewish Shabbat Service (Cadet Chapel). Cadets and their guests are invited to attend.
8-10 p.m. USAFA Observatory Open House (Observatory, East of Fairchild Hall). Open to cadets and their visitors. The USAFA Physics and Astronomy Club invites you to view the night sky through our 24' telescope! Tour the facility, see images taken on our telescope, use it to explore your universe first hand (weather permitting), and hear some of the incredible history and lore behind the constellations that can be seen from our vantage point, 7,258 feet above sea level! NOTE: This event may be cancelled if poor viewing conditions exist. Signs will be posted at bus stops and at Arnold Hall.
SATURDAY, 3 SEPTEMBER 2016

TBD USAFA Home Football Falcons vs. Abilene Christian University (Falcon Stadium) (MANDATORY FOR ALL CADETS). For tickets, call the USAFA Athletic Ticket Office (800) 666-8723 or purchase on-line at http://www.goairforcefalcons.com/tickets/afa-tickets.html). Cadets are required to attend the game and must sit with the Cadet Wing; they do not need to purchase tickets. CADETS MAY MEET THEIR GUESTS AND DEPART FALCON STADIUM AFTER THE THIRD VERSE OF THE AIR FORCE SONG AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE GAME; CADETS MUST SIGN IN BY MONDAY, 7 p.m. (11 p.m. FOR FIRSTIES).
SUNDAY, 4 SEPTEMBER 2016
7-9 a.m. Breakfast Buffet (Mitchell Hall). Open to cadets and their visitors. Guests may pay cashier ($3.45 ea).
8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Cadet Chapel Services. Guests are invited to attend worship services at the Cadet Chapel: Protestant Services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Catholic Services at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon; and Buddhist Service at 10 a.m.. For more info, please call (719) 333-2636.
10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Jacks Valley (JV) Orientation Tour. Shuttle buses will run from the Field House parking lot every 15 minutes. The last bus departs for JV at 1:30 p.m. and the last bus returns to parking at 2:30 p.m. Cadets must escort their guests.
11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Lunch Buffet (Mitchell Hall). Open to cadets and their visitors. Guests may pay cashier ($5.55 ea).
