Laser and Optics Research Center

The Laser and Optics Research Center (LORC) is an Academy initiative devoted to Cadet education and Faculty research concerning lasers and optics to support Air Force objectives. There are approximately a dozen research scientists from the departments of physics, electrical engineering and biology at the Academy as well as visitors from other US and foreign universities and Air Force Laboratories. The main missions of the LORC are to support Cadet education through involvement in courses and independent research and enhance faculty professional development through research. The research concerns laser and optical physics problems relevant to the needs of the Air Force.
