Biography
Dr. Kevin Davis is the Director for the Systems Engineering Management Major, an interdisciplinary degree program administered by the Department of Management. Dr. Davis’ current research interests include dynamic engineering management methodologies and organizational control with special attention given to the role of information in the context of high performance and reliability organizations such as flying units. His teaching interests include systems engineering management, management philosophy, and financial decision making. Dr. Davis has received several prestigious teaching awards including the Outstanding Academy Educator Award and the Heiser Award which recognizes the outstanding USAFA associate or full professor as selected by the Cadet Wing.
Dr. Davis graduated with honors from the Air Force Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He was awarded an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School, graduating with second year honors. Dr. Davis completed his Doctoral studies in Management Information Systems, also at the Harvard Business School. While in his doctoral program, Dr. Davis was awarded the Harvard Doctoral Fellowship, the John C. W. Schaie Memorial Fellowship, and the Marvin Bower Scholarship.
Dr. Davis is a Command Pilot and has flown the C-141, T-41, and TG-7A aircraft. He has been operationally assigned to Williams Air Force Base, McChord Air Force Base, McGuire Air Force Base, and Joint Task Force-Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
