The United States Air Force Academy is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education. This designation is jointly sponsored by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security in the spirit of Presidential Decision Directive 63. To receive the designation, the Academy had to meet stringent criteria in regards to the curriculum, faculty, research, and demonstrate an institution-wide commitment to information assurance practices and education.

* All Computer Science majors graduating from the US Air Force Academy must take at least one of the courses with asterick above.

Any student taking all three of the courses listed above will receive an Information Warfare designation noted on their official transcript.
