The 10th Security Forces at the Air Force Academy conduct law enforcement duties along with security and anit-terrorism operations to protect the Cadet Wing and the entire civilian and military population of the USAFA. The 10th Security Forces Squadron is also responsible for the safety and security of hundreds of thousands of visitors at NCAA Division I Football games, parent's weekend, graduation, and numerous other special events throughout the year. Further, the 10th SFS has integrated with other agencies to provide flawless security for distinguished visitors
including the President and Vice President of the United States.
The squadron is comprised of mainly military personnel, with civilian personnel filling positions throughout the unit. The 10th SFS also has a mobility commitment and personnel regularly deploy to temporary duty locations throughout the world. Unit personnel have proudly served in operations such as Desert Shield,
Desert Storm, Southern Watch, New Horizons 97, Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle.
