WHAT IS DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY?
Direct Hire Authority streamlines the recruitment process and authorizes hiring without regard to certain competitive procedural requirements. Under Direct Hire Authority, the Air Force Academy will accept resumes and maintain an applicant supply file for the selected occupations listed below. When a vacancy occurs, it will be advertised on www.usajobs.opm.gov and resumes will be directly referred to the selecting official.

EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY
This authority allows selecting officials to appoint qualified individuals to shortage category acquisition positions absent the traditional hiring process, making it easier and quicker to hire. This authority will expire on 30 September 2012.
To receive consideration under this authority, submit a resume and supporting documents directly to a selecting official and/or the local Civilian Personnel Office.
