DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

WHAT IS DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY?
Direct Hire Authority streamlines the recruitment process and authorizes hiring without regard to certain competitive procedural requirements. Under Direct Hire Authority, the Air Force Academy will accept resumes and maintain an applicant supply file for the selected occupations listed below. When a vacancy occurs, it will be advertised on www.usajobs.opm.gov and resumes will be directly referred to the selecting official.

Information Technology Management (Information Security), GS-2210, GS-09 and above
Selected Healthcare Occupations (all grade levels):
  Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, GS-0647
  Medical Officer, GS-0602

HOW TO APPLY
Submit a cover letter stating the position you wish to be considered for and attach a resume, copy of your transcript, license, or registration to the address listed below.  If you are claiming veteran's preference, submit a copy of your DD-214 (member 4) and a current VA letter and SF-15 for veteran's claiming 10-pt preference. EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY

This authority allows selecting officials to appoint qualified individuals to shortage category acquisition positions absent the traditional hiring process, making it easier and quicker to hire. This authority will expire on 30 September 2012.
